Reporting to the Project Manager, the Safety Supervisor will implement the RES Safety Management System (SMS) on wind, solar, distribution, substation, transmission, or energy storage projects in the US or Canada. Specific Duties: Promote our safety culture through coaching, influence, and training. Help develop site-specific documentation and templates including the Safety Program File, Site Passports, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Site Induction. Participate in safety related discussions at Plan of the Day (POD) Meetings, All Hands Meetings, Safety Committee Meetings, Staff Meetings, Tailgate Meetings, and Client/Owner Monthly Meetings. Provide training on Safety Programs, Site Induction, Work Procedures, Work Instructions, SMS, and regulatory requirements. Inspect work areas to verify consistency with procedural, client, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and assist Senior Safety Supervisor with Incident Investigations to determine Root Cause and recommend appropriate Corrective Actions. Develop Incident Reports to support findings from Incident Investigations. Drive implementation of proposed Corrective Actions to completion. Implement Corporate Drug and Alcohol Testing Procedure. Maintain incident data and safety metrics to compile weekly and monthly reports. Procure and maintain safety related tools and equipment (AED, Eye Wash Station, Fire Extinguishers, and First Aid Kits) for the project. Perform any other job-related tasks/functions requested by Senior Safety Supervisor and HSQE Department. Skills: Heavy Construction and Industrial. Power Generation – Collection, Distribution, Substation, and Transmission. Electrical Safety. Mobile Equipment and Cranes. Hazard Identification and Assessment. Material Handling. Work at Height. ANSI/DOT/EPA/OSHA Regulations and Standards. Coaching, Mentoring, and Training. Collaboration and Team Building. Subcontractor Management. Health and Safety Incident Management Software. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (required). 1-5 years of Construction Industry or equivalent experience (required). OSHA 30/510 required. Valid driver’s license (required). Eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage (required). Renewable Energy Industry experience (preferred). Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or similar (preferred). Current FA/CPR/AED Certification (preferred). Current Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification (preferred). CHST/CUSP/OHST Certification (preferred). Fall Prevention/Climbing/Rescue Training (preferred). Physical Requirements and Work Environment: The work environment and physical demands characteristics are representative of those you encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. Perform sedentary office tasks with occasional travel to other Company offices or construction sites. Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and required to sit, stand, walk and use a computer. Construction site environment includes early stage permitting, development and auditing through finished roads and features. Extensive travel with driving to remote sites along with office work in field conditions is also included. RES maintains a drug-free work environment. You must pass a pre-employment background investigation and drug test as a condition of employment. Anticipated base salary range: $70,000 – $105,000 The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. You will be bonus eligible.
