| Job Description : | Currently seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to work locally within Baton Rouge, La.The rate of pay is depending on experience between $21-$22 per hour.Benefits:Health InsuranceVision InsuranceDental InsuranceOthers to be discussedRequirements:5 years experience working within a Shipping or Shipping Department Manager role.Directly responsible for the management of delivery crews as well as monitoring their performance and quality of workMove the transferred goods to their final locations for delivery Monitor the packing of all materials as per company’s handling procedures and the loading of the trailersSupervise the loading of trailers in accordance with the delivery schedules provided by the delivery assistant Plan and identify the speed and number of loading of trailers to avoid demurragePrepare the daily delivery schedules, print packing list/slip, verify and control loading sequencesThe ideal candidate will have experience with industry loading practicesLocal and international transport proceduresKnowledge of rules and regulations related to shipping and exportKnowledge of HSE proceduresThe jobholder is responsible for ensuring that packaging and shipments are according to the set policies and proceduresComply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental control procedures and instructionsUse personal protective equipment and safety gear when performing assigned tasksKeep operational areas clean and well organized to prevent incidents and accidentsMaintain assigned tools, equipment, and machinery in good working orderReport unsafe acts, incidents, or safety violationsJob Type: Full-timePay: $21.00 – $22.00 per hourBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insuranceSchedule:Monday to FridayExperience:Shipping Supervisor: 5 years (Preferred)Shipment Tracking: 1 year (Preferred)Preperation of Delivery Schedules: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location |
