About Card Intelligence
We drive transformational impact to our credit card business through machine learning (ML) and by working with every part of the card business through our 6 mission teams: fraud, marketing, transaction, credit, customer resiliency, agent servicing. We are the only team in the business that sees every part of the customer journey and we are leveraging this breadth to drive both financial impact and improvements to the customer experience. We are a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, designers, product managers and engineers.
As part of the Card Intelligence team at Capital One, you will be leading the next wave of disruption at scale, leveraging the latest in machine learning technologies and operating across billions of customer records to unlock the big opportunities that help everyday people save money, time and agony in their financial lives.
As the Special Projects Manager for Card Intelligence you will join the Chief of Staff team reporting directly to the Director, Chief of Staff. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of cross-functional, cross-organizational strategic projects that deliver meaningful results and drive significant impact for Card Intelligence. You will partner with the leadership team, the organization, and our stakeholders to flawlessly drive our most important initiatives.

What you’ll work on:
Partner with senior leaders to address high-leverage, high-visibility challenges by managing high priority initiatives that don’t fit within the current organizational construct but will deliver outsized impact
Designing, developing, and managing project plans in a complex dynamic environment, revising needs to meet changing requirements
Develop framework to drive organization around largest transformational objectives while ensuring projects are being documented appropriately to mitigate risk and to be delivered on time
Assist in driving an intentional organizational culture and facilitating a management system to ensure organizational effectiveness
Ensure alignment across the organization through strategically designed updates around strategy and progress
Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solve for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations
Have excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes
Strategic execution: Execute on processes and frameworks to operationalize and manage strategic programs. Take ownership of charting out goals, successes, failures and mitigation plans. Oversee multiple projects and programs concurrently.
Capacity building: Build and leverage the capabilities of a high-performing team, as well as business partners across the enterprise. Create and manage effective, scalable processes to manage operating rhythm, drive critical decisions, and be able to consistently deliver results.
Impact oriented problem solving: Solve problems with rigor and efficiency. Have the ability to multitask with simultaneous projects and tasks, while demonstrating urgency, prioritization, and ownership to drive issues to completion.
Communication and storytelling: Demonstrate strong communications proficiency, including across teams and organizations. Experience utilizing oral and written communication skills along with presentation skills.

At least a Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience with at least 4 years of Project Management experience OR at least 7 years of Project Management experience
At least 3 Years of driving operational excellence
Masters / MBA degree
8+ years of Project Management experience
5+ Years of driving operational excellence
2+ years of People Management experience
PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
