Job Description : | Supervisor (260 Days) -(RTP20220228-002) Description Responsible for assigning, supervising staff, instructing and performing preventive maintenance and other repairs of all assigned vehicles. Establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedule and keep an updated file of completed work on each district vehicle. Maintain vehicle inventory and current vehicle maintenance schedules. Responsible for inventories of assigned tools and equipment for serviceability of tools and the use of a safe work place. Distributes work orders reports to properly plan appropriate work schedules for shop personnel. Manage work orders to completion, vendor repairs and data entry in the fleet management system also vendor receivers and scanning Track purchase orders and ensure compliance with District policy Perform and maintain database of safety inspections on assigned vehicles. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc. Supervise cleaning of buses by washing crew. Direct the upkeep and appearance of shop and parking lot area. Performs quality control checks on vehicle repairs in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the Fleet Manager. Assists the Fleet Manager in conducting quality control checks on equipment leaving the service center. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled vehicle service checks. Directs and controls by radio and phone road-side maintenance calls and recovery operations as necessary. Operates two-way radio equipment and communicates information required for continuing operation of all transportation functions. Coordinate and assists the Fleet Manager in the procurement of repair parts, supplies, and equipment needed in the shop. Performs other duties as may be assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of purchasing and ordering requirements of a public-school system preferred Working knowledge of the standard practices and tools of the automotive mechanic trade Working knowledge of the operation principles of gasoline, propane and diesel engines Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions Ability to meet and work with people in a positive and helpful manner Knowledge and experience in Word, Excel, and data management Use of automotive diagnostic equipment, wheel balancing equipment, tire repairing equipment, small hand tools, drills, grinder, air-powered tools, welding torch, torque wrench, jacks and lift equipment, school bus and district vehicles Knowledge of Fleet Vision System preferred Work Locations: Student Transportation Services 5151 SAMUELL BLVD Dallas 75228 Job: Supervisor-Transportation Full-time Minimum Salary: 30.20 Median Salary: 36.84 Job Posting: Mar 2, 2022 |
