Juniper achieves these goals through quality and conscientious ecological services, environmental quality management, emergency response, and use of geospatial technologies.Responsibilities Summary: The Technical Group Leader, Ecological Services is the company’s technical lead for all tasks dealing with NEPA compliance, ecology, biology, wetland delineations, wildlife and habitat surveys, planning, permitting, and related work.Acts as Juniper’s subject matter expert regarding ecological technical expertise.Developes new company technical standards and maintains and improves existing standards and guidelines, implementing industry and company best practices.Manages staff within the Ecological Services Technical Group.Provides operational consistency by adhering to the Company’s project management and safety policies, processes, and practices.Manage projects through effective communication, negotiation, scheduling, tracking, document control, and forecasting of costs and profitability.Assists in the development, review and approval of relevant deliverables.Provides technical support to marketing for bids and proposals.Maintains and fosters relationships with consultants, contractors, and clients.Coordinates with teaming partners regarding deliverables, schedule, and cost.Interacts closely with internal teams to ensure that project needs and objectives are met.Prepares scope documents, exhibits, budgets, specifications, schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).Leads or participates in project meetings and conference calls.Produces quality plans, studies, and specifications while ensuring compliance with discipline, project, company, and industry requirements and standards.Participates in deliverable review processes.Additional duties as required.Our work has non-negotiable deadlines, so a critical requirement for this position is being able to complete work on schedule. The Ecological Service Lead must be able to work quickly with minimal supervision and be able to effectively prioritize multiple projects to meet competing deadlines. Masters Degree preferred.Minimum of five years related experience/training.Professional Certification (CWB, PWS, etc…) preferred, but not required upon hire.Skills Demonstrated experience producing field and written deliverables for projects relating to National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 404 Wetlands, Section 7 Consultations, and/or ESA Phase I and II.Strong desire to be a part of a start-up/high growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.Must be a strong team player and able to work independently.Self-driven, detail-oriented with ability to think creatively.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must be able to pass background check, drug screen and have acceptable driving record.Physical Requirements This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While on-site, the employee may lift or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move objects up to 25 pounds.Travel This position requires moderate travel, including but not limited to, travel to local and nonlocal project sites, training, etc.Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week.
