As a result, the representatives will become involved with CAEL. They may be involved by becoming members, becoming involved with CAEL in one or more ways (such as engaging in industry partnerships), becoming CAEL’s customers, sponsoring CAEL’s conferences, and/or providing funding.The incumbent also will be responsible for advancing CAEL’s brand, voice, and thought leadership among employer and industry representatives, and supporting the President on high priority presentations and projects as assigned.The incumbent will coordinate with the President and the Executive Vice President/COO.Essential Job Functions: Map CAEL’s existing relationships, and the incumbent’s relationships, with employers and industry representatives, including representatives of employers and workers, such as representatives of national and local industry associations, chambers of commerce, unions, and labor-management partnerships.Develop a funnel for recruitment of employer and industry representatives that are not already engaged with CAEL via methods such as use of existing relationships to help recruit those they are connected with and opportunities from relationship building and communication efforts. Collaborate with the Marcom team to develop related marketing efforts and resources.Build and maintain strong relationships with employer and industry representatives, and thereby bring about substantial yearly increases in their involvement with CAEL.Ensure effective long-term communication with employers and industry representatives who are involved with CAEL or are in the funnel for potential involvement.Promote involvement of employer and industry representatives in CAEL’s efforts to equitably bring about adults’ skill development, employment, retention, and advancement.Promote involvement of employer and industry representatives in CAEL’s regional and national industry partnerships, in existing industries such as financial services, telecommunication, and utilities, and emerging industries such as construction and technology. Market membership in EPCE and NACTEL, collaborate with the Initiatives and Solutions team to develop models for regional and national industry partnerships based on CAEL’s experience with EPCE, NACTEL and current industry partnership development efforts, and market the result to industry representatives in collaboration with the Partnerships team.Gain understanding of CAEL’s work with employers, including but not limited to McDonald’s and Apple’s suppliers. Collaborate with Partnership and Marcom team members to develop marketing efforts, and lead related marketing to employers.Set the stage for and collaborate with CAEL’s Partnership and Engagement/membership team members to build employer member value, recruit employer and industry representatives to become members of CAEL and maintain memberships, identify employer and industry needs, and develop business opportunities, including customer relationships, strategic relationships that lead to business opportunities, and business relationships that generate revenue for CAEL.Establish opportunities to obtain revenue from employers from sources such as marketing and operating budgets and corporate foundations, and support for applications for funding, such as matching funding, other contributions, and letters of support.Establish opportunities to obtain revenue from industry groups, such as sponsorship of CAEL’s conference and events, and investments in development of efforts by CAEL to address shared interests.Achieve KPIs at the organizational and other levels, including the individual level.Assist in implementing CAEL’s roadmap to impact, scale, and opportunities and future organizational strategies for impact and related plans.Contribute to the development of a supportive and collaborative work culture.Other duties as assigned.Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated experience: Business Management, Economic Development, Marketing, Public Administration; a combination of work experience and training providing pertinent knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position will be consideredCritical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills are requiredA sense of urgency in achieving outcomes is requiredExcellent project management and prioritization skills are requiredUnderstanding of the industry partnership approach is requiredSuccess in communicating with, influencing, and working with employer and labor leaders is requiredSuccess in obtaining commitments from employers and industry representatives, including financial commitments, is strongly preferredSuccess in working with employer and labor leaders is preferredPerformance Requirements: Ability to build and maintain strong, high-level relationships with employer executives and industry executive in key industriesKnowledge of labor market dynamics, workforce trends, and workforce development issues at a local, regional, state, and national levelPassion regarding CAEL’s mission and purpose and an ability to communicate passion externallyExcellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to represent the organization externally across a wide range of stakeholdersAbility to successfully navigate in a fast-paced, outcome driven, entrepreneurial environmentStrong computer skills including proficiency in using Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to develop relationships and effectively collaborate with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholdersTravel Requirements: This position will require the incumbent to travel approximately forty percent (40%) of the time for business meetings with some overnight travel required. The amount of travel and expectations for the same are subject to change based on business needs and demands.Typical Physical & Mental Demands: Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
