GamesBeat Summit 2022 returns with its biggest event for gaming leaders on April 26-28. Reserve your spot here!
As someone who stumbles through Elden Ring with the urgency of a stunned sow, I’m intrigued by the growing legend of “Let Me Her Solo.” In case you haven’t heard, this is apparently an Elden Ring player voluntarily taking on the game’s most challenging boss, Malenia, on behalf of other players. The idea of someone wanting to do the heavy lifting of this game for me, with no questions, no strings attached, makes me both excited and suspicious. How does one – figuratively and literally – summon this Good Samaritan? Purely for research purposes of course.
Anyway, this week’s big news actually happened last weekend, when Square Enix officially announced Kingdom Hearts 4. I’m not quite the KH aficionado that Mike Minotti is – I’ll say I’m dying for the series to finally bring Sora, Donald and Goofy to the MCU. Heck, Mike’s suggestion that they bring in Thor is inspired. Of all the actors in the MCU who might be willing to give their voices to a video game, I imagine Chris Hemsworth would be at the top of the list.
Other than that it was a quiet week! Now that we’ve got all of the March games, things have slowed down a bit. I have yet to have a review, and then I’ll be at a bit of a loss until a few months from now. I think I’m just going to start with my backlog. 2022 clearly has some balance issues.
In other news, our very own GamesBeat Summit is approaching, and we’ll be getting people like Reggie Fils-Aime and many, many others speaking! I will be attending some of the talks and looking forward to seeing everyone there!
