Job Description : | Sol Systems is seeking a full-time Utility Scale Project Manager. We are seeking an individual who can successfully deliver utility scale projects through construction. The Project Manager will work with a wide range of external counterparties and internal clients and will be responsible for the delivery of projects from the pre-NTP stage through Commercial Operation and final completion.Sol Systems is a solar energy project development and financial services firm with a national footprint and a diverse customer, investor, and partner base. As a leading renewable energy developer, financier, trader and operator, Sol empowers entrepreneurs to have a meaningful impact on the world with a focus on catalyzing the development and operation of sustainable infrastructure.Key Responsibilities: Construction responsibilities:Successfully administer EPC contracts to manage contractor budgets, schedules, changes to scope and administrative issues for utility scale projects ranging in size from 20 to 100 MWdc.Lead project meetings with EPC partners, perform site visits, and actively manage installation for quality and safety as Owner, to ensure system performance and reliability.Develop and evolve internal processes to deliver projects more effectively.Report progress on milestones to internal and external counterparties including Finance, Accounting, Engineering, and Asset Management.Manage 3rdparty contractors/consultants, such as construction managers and engineers, as they work to support delivery efforts.Understand how site control, interconnection, permitting, PPA, and incentive issues impact construction risk and execution.Understand the PV equipment market for leading module, racking, and inverter equipment types; be able to forecast risks associated with different equipment types and their impact on construction schedules and budgets.Versed in EPC Contract commercial terms to represent Owner, mitigate risk, and support the Finance team for contract negotiations.A successful candidate will possess the following competencies, skills, and attributes: Bachelor’s Degree5+ years’ work experience in energy or renewable energyOn-site or general contracting experience a plusDirect solar experience a plusHighly organized and deadline oriented with attention to detailSelf-motivatedEnergetic, willing to learn, grow, and work with the teamHighly proficient in project management tools and softwareUnderstanding of solar PV equipment, installation, and industry best practicesLocation & Hours: This is a full-time role; while the position can be remote, candidate can expect to travel to Sol’s Washington, DC headquarters approximately once per month, and to project sites as dictated by project needs.Commitment & Compensation: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
